Biography
Angie Wendelberger brings an extensive background in both design and technical aspects of costume production to her role. Wendelberger’s expertise encompasses a broad range of areas including pattern drafting, draping, crafting, and costume construction as well as integration of new technologies into costume creation.
Wendelberger received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and a second MFA from Michigan State University in Production Design with an emphasis on costume design and construction.
Professionally, Wendelberger has worked as a freelance costume designer and technician in Chicago. She has been pleased to work for such amazing companies as The Court Theatre, RedMoon Theatre, Eclipse Theatre, The Factory Theatre and Navy Pier Entertainment. Along with theatre companies, Wendelberger has headed sewing projects for corporate companies such as Crate and Barrel and PLYTexile Designs.
Wendelberger was the Costume Shop Supervisor for the University of Michigan – Flint as well as The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. While professional freelance work in design and technology was highly fulfilling, teaching the next generation of designers and encouraging students to be amazing humans is her true passion.
