Ben Tobey

Hi there! I’m Ben Tobey and I serve the College of Arts & Letters as Marketing Technologist. My job is to help connect audiences with the amazing work being done inside our college through the development of new processes, workflows and technologies. I bring more than twenty years of professional experience in software development and entrepreneurial leadership to my role. My professional background includes CASE-award-winning design work for the University of Michigan’s Office of Admissions and bespoke software development for clients like Mercedes-Benz and the American Library Association. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from Michigan State University and a Master of Information Science in Computer Supported Cooperative Work from the University of Michigan.

My primary project is CASL, a unique WordPress-based platform that powers websites across the college and MSU, including the Directory you are using right now. As the lead architect of this system, I welcome your input and feedback. I thrive in environments where people are transparent and open about sharing information and opinions with each other.
