Biography
Dr. Silvina Bongiovanni’s research lies at the intersection of Hispanic Linguistics, phonetics and phonology, and sociolinguistics. She focus on variation in pronunciation—what it reveals about language structure and how it drives patterns of variation and change. She uses a broad array of tools of acoustic analysis, alongside methods drawn from sociolinguistic frameworks and second language acquisition.
Degrees: Dual-Ph.D. in Linguistics and Hispanic Linguistics, Indiana University
