Biography
Lisa Richman holds a doctorate in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. Her work develops out of the intersection of critical theory and histories of photography, interrogating the role of photography as a cultural object that can reflect and impact the spaces in which it is made/circulated. Most recently, her article “Migrant Mother: Race and Gender in the Making of a Photographic Icon.” can be found within The Routledge Companion to Photography and Visual Culture.
Research Areas: Writing Center Theory, Writing Program Administration, Composition Pedagogy, and Cultural Studies.
Education: Ph.D. in American Culture Studies, Bowling Green State University
