Biography
C. Harold Perkins is a sculptor and educator whose practice draws from a life shaped by labor—military service, farm work, the trades, and competitive athletics. His work operates at the threshold between confrontation and construction, using material and site to challenge assumptions about meaning, authorship, and function. Whether in sculptural installations or furniture-like forms, Perkins foregrounds process: the physical, often improvisational act of making as a form of inquiry. His teaching mirrors his studio practice—hands-on, critical, and materially rooted. He received an MFA in Sculpture from Michigan State University and a BA in Studio Art from the University of Southern Maine. His work has been shown both nationally in internationally.
