Biography
B.A. in Teaching Japanese Language from Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo.
M.A. in Education with a specialization in Japanese pedagogy from Carthage College, Wisconsin.
Takuma Miura has taught all levels of Japanese language, Japanese Culture, and Japanese Linguistics at various universities in the U.S. and Japan. Prior to coming to Michigan State University, he taught Japanese at Harvard University, Bates College, and Carthage College. During the summer, he taught several Japanese language programs at the Hokkaido International Foundation (HIF) and the Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU). His research interests include Japanese language pedagogy, second language (L2) acquisition, Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) pedagogy, and Japanese learning through virtual realities (VR). He is also a coach for the MSU Kendo Club.
