Biography
I am a full professor and chair of philosophy. I work in the areas of argumentation theory and virtue epistemology. My second book, Arguments and Reason-Giving came out in May of 2024. I am currently working on how rational persuasion enhances intellectual responsibility and so requires the exercise of epistemic agency.
My teaching primarily consists of courses in logic ( e.g., “Logic and its Metatheory” PHL 432, “Philosophy of Logic and Language”, PHL 432). I look forward to teaching my undergraduate course on intellectual virtues. I enjoy engaging students in my classes with my current research topics. I am available to work with graduate students.
