Biography
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and I have been living in Michigan since 2019. Back in Brazil, I have worked for Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in Sao Paulo for almost 19 years. This university is one of the most prestigious private schools in Brazil. I worked as a Portuguese teacher in the collegiate level and as an ESL teacher in high school levels. All my experience in Education as teaching languages and using it as a tool of embracing the knowledge as a powerful tool to change realities and people’s lives.
I have been working at MSU since 2022. I am a Portuguese Instructor for PRT 150, PRT 250 and PRT 320 courses.
I also have been working as a curriculum designer in the OER Project for Beginner and Intermediate Portuguese Learners at MSU in partnership with CLACS.
I have been the advisor of the Portuguese Club since its foundation in 2023 and gladly, I can see how many students are engaged in spreading the Brazilian culture among MSU community. We have been developing some events such as Capoeira Night, Samba Classes, Açaí Tasting, Festa Junina among others which bring people together to celebrate and learn more about Brazil and Lusophony.
Currently, I also give private online classes for ESL students, specially for the Brazilian community which is massive in Michigan and online Portuguese classes for foreigners.
I love teaching my mother language and I wish that my students may fall in love with it as well!
