Biography
Hillery teaches in the First-Year Writing program, the Professional and Public Writing Program, the Residential College for Arts and Humanities, and is a GenCen Faculty Fellow. Hillery’s research interests include multimodality (including digital and DIY/Craft rhetorics); queer rhetorics (including queer Appalachian rhetoric) and LGBTQ studies; community engagement and zines. Hillery’s most recent research projects consider the materiality of zines in digital spaces and the pedagogies and rhetoric of neon art.
